PRINTS FOR SALE
Over the past 2 years, I have been working with two wonderful non-profits, traveling to Africa and South America to document children in need of education and medical care.
In 2006, I went to Sierra Leone, West Africa to photograph the Goderich Waldorf School, which provides free education for street children, some of whom have spent their childhood fighting in the country's 10 year civil war. Using the alternative methods of a Steiner/Waldorf education, they learn through drawing, story telling, drama and nature study. This creative type of education is intended to teach as well as heal those who have been deeply traumatized by war and continued poverty.
In 2007, I got involved with the American charity Healing the Children Northeast and followed a group of doctors and nurses to Colombia, where many children are in need of cleft lip and palate surgery. They helped families who would not be able to afford these fairly straightforward procedures by operating on 65 children in 5 days, free of charge.
I am currently raising funds to go on another mission with Healing the Children to Aquiraz, Brazil in August. I will be exhibiting work from these three trips at the National Arts Club in New York City this September. In an effort to cover the costs for the upcoming trip and the printing and framing of the exhibition, I am selling large editions of prints at a very low rate.
All photographs are printed digitally with archival pigment inks on Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl Paper and are available in 2 sizes.
